The Beta Zeta chapter (#54) at Long Island University was installed February 11, 1949 with District X Governor Raymond Shannon serving as the installing officer. Charter members of the Beta Zeta chapter include: Arnold Fine, Irwin Oster, Harold Schulkind, Jack Katz, William Obramson, Donald Broder, George Costa, John Daniels, Leonard Goldberg, Martin Katzoff, Jacob Mandel, Warner Oakes, Norman Palmer, Burton Prince, Stanley Rubin, Norman Sarnoff, Harold Segal, Herbert Siverstein, Joel Stark, Sidney Whiteside, and Leonard Goldberg.
