The Balfour Award for the Top Chapter changed
The Balfour Award was renamed the Past Grand President’s Award at the 1953 National Convention. This award was eventually replaced by the Founder’s Trophy at the 1957 National Convention.
Creation of a National Archives proposed
The National Chapter proposed the creation of a National Archives for the Fraternity to be maintained at Oklahoma State University during the 1953 National Convention
Gamma Epsilon chapter installed at Hobart College
The Gamma Epsilon chapter (#77) at Hobart College was installed May 30, 1953 with Roy D. Metcalf serving as the installing officer. The Beta Psi chapter performed the Ritual and installation ceremony. The Gamma Delta (#76) chapter at Nebraska State Teachers College at Wayne was installed March 21, 1953 with District V Governor Leslie R. Marks serving as the installing officer. The Beta Epsilon chapter performed the Ritual and installation ceremony. The Gamma Gamma chapter (#75) at Panhandle Agricultural and Mechanical College was installed May 22, 1952 with William O. Latson serving as the installing officer. The Beta Omega chapter (#72) at Western Reserve University was installed May 20, 1951 with District VII Governor Charles E. Gilbert serving as the installing officer.
