The Alpha Tau chapter (#43) at the University of Texas was officially installed November 27, 1940 with Executive Secretary A. Frank Martin serving as the installing officer. Charter members of the Alpha Tau chapter were initiated May 18, 1940 and include: Lynn Anderson; Basil Bell; John Binnion; George Blevins, Jr.; Kenneth Brown; Philip Dieter; Randolph Foster, Jr.; Joe Fugitt; John Galt; Stanley Grupp; David Hargis, Jr.; Col. George Hurt; Clarence Isensee; Wallace Johnson; Richard Jung; Van Kirkpatrick; Oliver Leppin; Ernest Ludwig; Marshall Miller; Frank Murray; James Newman; William Owens; Lloyd Roach; Virgil Stevens, Jr.; H.J. Stark; Randle Tankersley; Arthur Teasdale; Roy Thomson; Edward Wadley; and Gradon Willard.
